Top Ten Tuesday - Short Stories Edition

Hey guys, it's time for another...

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week's TTT is short stories! I've read a lot of urban fantasy anthologies. Mainly because I love certain series and they'll throw a .5'er into the mix. Especially when a series has ended, you read all the little bits and pieces the authors may throw your way!

Here goes! In no certain order, short stories that have stuck with me from the various anthologies.

Nine-Tenths Of The Law By Jenna Black

Demons are allowed to possess humans as a type of beneficially symbiotic relationship. In this short story, Morgan is called in by religious parents to depossess their teenage daughter.

Freak House By Kelly Meding

Gypsy mother, absentee djinn father - Shiloh Harrison she learns he’s being held captive by
a man running an elite underground paranormal freak show.

Gena Showalter's Ever Night

Every year on her birthday, Rose is taken to a dark world and brought before the king. They are supposed to be enemies but she can't help feeling the attraction.

Nathan Ballingrud—The Diabolist

Allison's father has died and he's left behind his legacy...and an imp?

Red Really Isn't My Colour By Christina Henry

The MC has a pet gargoyle. Enough said.

Daughter Of The Midway, The Mermaid, And The Open Lonely Sea By Seanan
Mcguire

In this story, a 2nd generation carnival mermaid returns to the town where her mother joined 18 years ago.

Seeing Eye By Patricia Briggs

A white witch is asked to help a werewolf find his brother. The only thing is she's blind.
They both find more than expected in this short story.

Mile 81 By Stephen King

An abandoned rest stop and an extraterrestrial, mud-covered station wagon that is eating people.

40 Ways To Leave Your Monster Lover by Gwendolyn Kiste

A how-to on leaving that lover that is just no good.

Daycare Of The Damned By Nina Kiriki Hoffman

Creepy sup kids with strange powers.

Have you read any of these?

Which one is your favorite?
