Zodiac Book Tag

Zodiac Sign Tag

While Kerri is a booktuber, I'm going to attempt to answer her questions here on
Cats Luv Coffee Book Reviews!

Having studied a little on the signs, I'm not one who checks my horoscope, but I do find the characteristics of my star chart interesting.
As you can see by the image above, I'm a Libra, with the sign of the scales. Libras are all about justice, balance, and fairness. We are also indecisive, lazy procrastinators (which is why I'm just getting to this tag.) I was also born on the cusp of Scorpio, which is known as the cusp of drama or criticism. Guess that might explain why I'm a book reviewer!

The Zodiac Book Tag is 12 questions based on the characteristics of all the sun signs.
Here we go!

Aries: Aries is the warrior of the zodiac.
Name your favorite “strong female character."

Kate Daniels in Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews. She's headstrong and snarky. She doesn't take crap from anyone. She has a magical sword she calls "Slayer". I don't think it gets much tougher.

Taurus: Taurus is known for loving the finer things in life.
What food/drink from a book would you like to try?

Ambrosia from Nectar and Ambrosia by E.M. Hamill. It's described as tasting "a little like lightning must: sharp and metallic, with a hint of black pepper." I'm not sure I'd enjoy it and it'd probably give you major heartburn, but it'd be an experience.

Gemini: Geminis value interpersonal communication.
Name your favorite character friendship.

Harry Dresden and Bob the skull in The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.  They make me laugh. You could argue it's not a friendship, but I think so. (Start with Storm Front if you haven't read them.)

Cancer: Cancers are the most emotional of the signs.

What book have you thrown/wanted to throw across the room?

Lord of the Flies.
I'm not exactly sure how it got to be required reading in school but MAN, I loathe this book!

Leo: Leos have a great desire for popularity.
Name a character you want more people to love.

Cindy in A Bitter Winter. She's such an amazingly real character. I had the opportunity to review this one last month. Honestly, I never would have picked it up on my own, but it was so good.

Virgo: Virgo always wants things to be logical.
What book confused the heck out of you?

Night of the Animals by Bill Broun.
Hands down. I have no friggin clue what happened. One reviewer on Goodreads describes it: "This book felt like a bad high..."  I've never had a bad high, but I would imagine that it couldn't be as weird as this book.

Libra: Libra is all about right and wrong.
What decision by a book character do you wish you could undo?

Ross' decision to go to Elizabeth in Warleggan by Winston Graham. I would beat this man with a cast iron pan for this decision, not only because he totally cheated on his wife, well yeah, mainly that. Also because said wife is so charming.

Scorpio: Scorpio is the sign associated with death.
What character would you kill if you could?

At first, I was thinking of this from a villain perspective. Then I decided that I could kill off an annoying character so my vote goes to Anita Blake. I really enjoyed this series until about six or seven or so in. (Guilty Pleasures is book #1 back when Anita still kicked butt.) I felt like she never grew as a character and had obnoxious character flaws. Die, Anita, die.

Sagittarius: Sagittarius loves freedom and travel.
Name a location from a book you’d love to visit (can’t be Hogwarts).
The factory of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. Because the snozberries taste like snozberries, though I wouldn't lick the wallpapers. That's a bit unsanitary. Actually, I'm thinking most of the factory was probably unsanitary. Maybe I should rethink this.

Capricorn: Capricorns are wise beyond their years.
What mentor/teacher from a book do you wish you could learn from?

I wouldn't call her a great teacher since she's so socially inept, but I'd love to have the knowledge of Temperance Brennan. I think forensic anthropology is fascinating. (Start with Deja Dead.)

Aquarius: Aquariuses are known for their rebellion.
If you had to, what revolution from a book would you join?

I'd join up with Harry Potter! Cause - magic!

Pisces: Pisces never stop dreaming.
What book/series did/do you wish would never end?

The Hollows series by Kim Harrison. While the last  book disappointed me, this was such a great series. I loved all the characters. (Start with Dead Witch Walking)
